How Do I Help With Breastfeeding
My experience as a doula has shown that the main issue mothers ask after giving birth is breastfeeding. Many are interested in breastfeeding their baby, but due to lack of knowledge or experience, they may face a number of difficulties.
As a breastfeeding counsellor, I can help you with:
- Preparing for breastfeeding during pregnancy;
- Organization of breastfeeding in the first days after childbirth;
- Soreness when feeding, cracked nipples;
- Breast filling, milk supply, breast lumps or tenderness, lactostasis, mastitis;
- Lack of milk;
- Hyperlactation;
- Small weight gain in a child;
- Breast refusal, unloved breast;
- Relaxation (restoration of lactation);
- Premature / LBW babies;
- Organization of breastfeeding for twins;
- Organization of feeding when returning to work, pumping techniques;
- Introduction of complementary foods;
- Feeding after a year;
- Termination of lactation.
When you first contact us, we will determine if I can help you with advice by phone, in writing, by video link, or if you need a home visit.
We will analyze your situation in detail in order to understand the cause of the problem, and based on the data received, we will draw up an individual plan for its solution. Since problems often arise from improper attachment, I will check and, if necessary, correct the position of the baby when feeding and latching on to the breast.
Within two weeks, you can contact me on the current issue, including if it is necessary to adjust the initial recommendations.
In some cases, a second home visit may be required.
